Classic Connections: Michael Steele and the Air Valley Classic Motorcycle Club

In this episode of the Backseat Driver Podcast, I'm delighted to welcome Michael Steele, a passionate enthusiast of classic motorcycles. While he no longer rides on two wheels due to balance issues, there has always been a deep admiration for motorcycles alongside cars. Michael, who happens to be the partner of former radio presenter Jane Steele, shares his experiences as the newly appointed chairman of the Air Valley Classic Motorcycle Club, previously known as the Gerde Fork and Classic Motorcycle Club.

This esteemed club caters to motorcycles that are 25 years or older, encompassing a wide range of makes and models. Michael sheds light on the club's recent name change, emphasizing its inclusive nature that welcomes vintage and modern bikes. The conversation delves into the strong camaraderie among classic bike enthusiasts, their collective knowledge, and the joy they find in keeping these remarkable machines on the road. Michael highlights the hands-on involvement of owning and maintaining a classic motorcycle and the satisfaction of understanding and working on these mechanical marvels.

From sourcing rare parts to incorporating modern components for improved performance, the classic bike community thrives on their shared passion and unwavering appreciation for these timeless vehicles.
