From Tractors to Trackside with Paul Hargreaves Pt. 1

In this episode of Backseat Driver, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Paul Hargreaves, whose life journey has been deeply intertwined with motorsport—not as a driver or team member, but from behind the camera lens. Paul's career began in the insurance industry from 1960 to 1978, after which he transitioned into television, film, and video production. His notable works include producing the British and European Rallycross Championships' world TV feed and the 19-part series A Gentleman's Motor Racing Diary in 1996.

During our conversation, Paul shared captivating stories from his youth, including his early experiences driving tractors and his creative ventures that eventually led him into video production and broadcasting. We delved into his passion for documenting motorsport, his challenges in the industry, and his successes in bringing motorsport stories to life. Paul also discussed his book, A Century of Motoring Memories, which chronicles 100 years of motoring adventures, drawing from his grandfather's diaries and his own experiences.

This episode offers a unique perspective on a life dedicated to motorsport and the invaluable contributions of those who document its history. Join us as Paul recounts his adventures, challenges, and successes in the thrilling world of motorsport.
